Eragon: horrible, aweful movie.
Every winter my husband and I go see a movie and tonight we couldn't decide between Apocalypto and Eragon.
Well, we chose Eragon. Big mistake.
I read the book. It was a fantastic book for being written by a 15 year old kid from Montana. Frankly, the book was a lot better than the movie. The book made sense. The book had a plot, though predictable, that was easy to understand, that made you go, "oh yea, okay, I get it, cool."
Do not see this movie!
I repeat, do NOT see this movie.
Not only was the movie's plot botched and butchered, but critical detail and descriptions were ignored. Somehow you were just supposed to know what event led to the next.
Jeremy Irons, I love you. You're super sexy (in a geeky fantasy nerd way) and I love your voice. It melts me. But dude, seriously, just stop. It's time to end the derailing of your career. Retire. Be the voice for fantasy audio books. I'd buy them. But please, please... I beg you... STOP acting. You aren't cut out for it.
Oh and the dude that played Eragon, stop being so faggy. Good lord. Did you even read the book?
The only thing I loved about the movie was the Dragon. Awesome. I loved her voice and she looked awesome.
I read that The Pursuit of Happiness beat Eragon by a landslide. That movie looks fantastic and inspirational. I would almost go see that instead of Apocalypto. I'm sick of all these war, battle-axing movies. I want something uplifting and non-gay. I also want to see Charlotte's Web. That movie looks so cute! I read the book when I was little and loved it.
Anyway, as a major fantasy and sci-fi fanatic, I would give Eragon one star out of five. No stars for the actors but instead a star for the DRAGON. What an awful movie.

That movie just looked awful. Even my co-worker who is a total fantasy/scifi nut said it looked appalling and she refused to see it.
The Pursuit of Happyness was awesome and inspirational. I held my boyfriend's hand so tight through the whole movie, when we got up I realized both our palms were sweaty and my knuckles a little sore. It was amazing though, and I love Will Smith- definately see it!
Other than that, I wanted to say I always really enjoy reading your posts. You make me laugh and smile and don't sound pretentious the way that some people come across. You just sound like yourself, and I like that. You're a good writer. I also wanted to say in regard to CupCate's latest post thanks for being someone who shows that Christians aren't all awful, judgemental people. I grew up going to church around very cruel, self righteous people and have really gotten to hate churches and churchiness. I do still believe in a higher power out there though, and I commend you for being true to your beliefs without trampeling others.
You know, I'm no perfect Christian. And technically, I probably shouldn't have posted that very judgmental post about Rosie O'Donnell. God may hold me accountable for that one at the pearly gates... and I will try not to laugh.
lol
I just try to be down to Earth and real, that's all. I hope that in my life's trials and happiness I can inspire other people and help them identify with life's sometimes mundane, to stressful, to wonderful moments.
I can't wait to see The Pursuit of Happiness. It looks like the kind of film I want to see.
Yea, Eragon sucked. It was just pure crap.
Why can't good fantasy movies be made without Peter Jackson and WETA there to hold the producer's hands!!!???? I just don't get it! lol
I did hear from a fellow VOXer that Apocalypto was really good. Kinda gruesome but good.
If you are in the mood for a chick flick and you enjoy Jude Law :) check out The Holiday.
It was really light hearted and fun, Dom even suffered through it with me and thought it was good....or wait, I believe he said 'cute'
Kiss Me Cate....I agree....The Neverending Story was great.
Oh man, I can just hear the theme song and the Luck Dragon flying through the air. What about Labyrinth? Legend? Willow? The Dark Crystal? Does anyone also remember Teddy Ruxpen?
Dark Crystal??? We just watched that last night. My daughter had never seen it....and either had I. I know, I'm a big loser, Dom has shown me the way.
Labyrinth....great. Legend....great....Willow....Dom thought it was a little lame. I would have to watch it again to make a proper analysis.
I felt the same way. My husband and I are the proud parents of a 1year old. We have our own business too. Time is precious to us. I felt so ripped off! But it's a gamble going to movies now. Maybe over New Years you can see a good movie! We hope to be able to go out on New Years day and see a couple.
